Grab encouraged by National Budget, inline with its vision to out-serve the community through digital access

We are encouraged by the 2021 National Budget’s measures towards supporting businesses and the people of Malaysia.

In this challenging time, we believe that everyone in Malaysia has a part to play, to support one another regardless of background, affiliation or industry. So at Grab, we hope to continue to play our part in supporting our country’s efforts to tackle the effects of the pandemic on our lives and livelihoods.

So far, we have started taking small steps towards serving and protecting the livelihoods of our community via digital technology. For instance, we digitalised our Ramadan Bazaars and introduced ‘Pasar’ to bring our traditional markets online; we reduced delivery fees, and introduced the ‘Local Heroes’ campaign to give free visibility to our small, local businesses; and we pivoted over 100,000 driver-partners from rides to deliveries. But we know that there is a long road to recovery ahead of Malaysia.

As a homegrown company, we are ready to put in the hard work alongside our government, like-minded industry partners, and our community to help steer the nation towards a stronger Malaysia.
