The popularity of using e-hailing services for daily routine tasks is growing among the people of Malaysia. Gradually, more people are ceasing to use personal cars to reduce the number of traffic jams and protect the environment.
In an independent study, Maxim’s analytics team has gathered data about how often people used the company’s e-hailing app in 2024, determining the most popular rate and the average ride price.
According to the data, 51% of active users utilize the Maxim app twice a week, 31% once a week, 12% six times a week, and 2% use it more than seven times a week. This shows that half of Maxim users place orders through the app at least twice a week. In terms of location, most rides took passengers from public spaces, transportation hubs and office buildings to housing areas. Regular users of the Maxim app who use it seven times a week or more tend to order rides from various locations.
Also, a huge number of users prefer “Car” rate since it tends to be the most convenient in terms of accessibility, affordability and ease of use in bad weather.
Budget-wise, the average sum that most of the users spend on e-hailing orders per week is approximately RM12.50. That is, using the Maxim app twice a week, they spend around RM5 to RM7 on each ride on average. This goes to show that Maxim is an affordable e-hailing company providing budget-friendly e-hailing services to its users in Malaysia.
On top of that, affordable e-hailing services may assist in the reduction of personal vehicle use, which will help reduce traffic jams during rush hour. Such services can also chip in to reduce carbon emission, making a significant contribution to environment protection effort, and stimulate the use of cashless transactions.
“E-hailing is my main mode of transportation, and Maxim is the provider that I prefer. This mobility option has more benefits: among other things, it saves you time, lets you relax more, eliminates the parking stress and the traffic jam problem. I use it about six times a week and spend around RM7 per ride from office to home,” said Nadya Roslan, one of Maxim’s users.
“The number of orders in 2024 significantly increased compared to the year before, and most of the users preferred to use e-hailing because of its affordability, convenience, time-saving, reliability and comfort. One of the key factors of that success is Maxim’s availability, because not only do we focus on big cities, but we are also available in rural areas and offer fitting facilities. As urban lifestyle evolves, e-hailing continues to play a major role in meeting the public transportation need of millions of people globally. Our company will continue to develop urban transportation by fine-tuning technology to meet the demands of modern consumers for efficient, affordable, and flexible mobility solutions,” says Mohd Hazwan, Director of Maxim Malaysia.
