Based on the available statistical data, Maxim E-hailing specialists have discovered the gender, age, operating system and smartphone brand of an average e-hailing ordering app user.

As it turns out, women use e-hailing services as often as men do. Male users make up 51.14% of all clients, while women comprise 48.86%.

People younger than 24 order the most rides, with 40.38% of the total number. 25–35-year-olds take second place in the market with 37%. Clients aged 36–45 take third place with 16.89%. Passengers older than 46 round out the list with 7.74% of all clients.

Concerning smartphone operating systems, 84.3% of e-hailing service ordering app installations happen on Android devices. iOS installations make up 15.7%. These numbers indicate that Android is 5.5 times more popular than Apple’s operating system. However, users of both systems are equally loyal and often give high rates to the apps: the average Maxim rating on markets is 4.8.

The most popular smartphone brand among taxi passengers is Vivo by Chinese developers, whose owners make up 19.98% of all clients. Second place is taken by OPPO, also from China (16.12%). American Apple and Chinese Xiaomi are just a little less popular with 15.7% and 15.38%, respectively. Korean Samsung takes fifth place. The top is rounded out by Chinese Realme (8.54%) and Huawei (6.64%).

So, who are you most likely to see in the passenger seat in Malaysia? Most probably, it’ll be a man younger than 24 with a Vivo smartphone.

“The Maxim app has millions of installations in Malaysia. It enables its users to order different kinds of transport depending on their needs: passenger cars of various classes, compact vans, trucks and tow trucks. Clients can also use the app to order engine jump-start, car towing, laundry and cleaning services, as well asget a courier to buy and deliver goods. In today’s world, it’s a versatile tool that can help people in a variety of situations. Picking up a friend from the train station, ordering medicine delivery for your grandma, moving to another apartment, having a ride in your own vehicle when you cannot drive yourself… The list goes on and on. We’re glad we’ve managed to create a service that is now used by people of more than 60 Malaysian cities,” says Mohd Hazwan Musley, director of Maxim E-hailing in Malaysia.
