On behalf of Grab, we are excited about and supportive of the Pelan Jana Semula Ekonomi Negara (PENJANA) by the government. As a homegrown tech enabler and proponent of the digital economy, we are honoured to be a part of the government’s Shop Online Malaysia and cashless adoption campaign. We hope to continue to leverage our tech solutions to empower Malaysians, local SMEs and traditional businesses to adopt the digital economy.

During this challenging time, we have seen how this crisis has impacted our nation, the gig workers, and the people. Through our platform, we have helped micro-SMEs to sustain their income during MCO and accelerated their digital transformation through several initiatives, including partnering with local state governments to digitise Ramadan Bazaars. As we move towards the ‘new normal,’ the digitalisation of our economy becomes ever more vital, and is aligned with Grab’s vision to further enable and empower businesses, gig workers and all Malaysians.

Therefore, we are committed to work alongside our government and partners to help bring to life the vision behind PENJANA. Together, we are optimistic to create a progressive and digitalised economic environment that is inclusive, dynamic and resilient to drive Malaysia forward in its recovery beyond the pandemic.
