UMW TOYOTA SDN BHD’S IMPRESSIVE MARCH 2024 PERFORMANCE AND COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY AND INCLUSIVITY

Catering to Diverse Needs, Redefining Mobility Standards

SHAH ALAM, 4 APRIL 2024 – UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) ended March 2024 with ongoing positive performance, attaining monthly total sales of 9,688 units (Toyota + Lexus), comprising 9,471 units for Toyota and 217 units for Lexus. With this achievement, the total year-to-date sales as of March 2024 is now at 23,444 units.

In a significant move towards sustainable mobility, UMWT has recently collaborated with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) by handing over a Toyota Mirai in a groundbreaking ceremony. This initiative is part of a broader commitment to carbon neutrality, aligning with the nation’s Hydrogen Economy and Technology Roadmap (HETR).

The ceremony was graced by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister who experienced the demonstration firsthand by test driving the Toyota Mirai alongside YB Chang Lih Kang, Minister of MOSTI. The handing over of the Toyota Mirai aims to support and demonstrate the viability, efficiency, and practicality of hydrogen-powered mobility solutions for the nation.

In the commercial sector, UMWT has raised the bar with the introduction of the all-new Toyota HiAce Panel Van 3.0L. This model sets a new standard in the commercial vehicle segment with its impressive features, including a load length of 2,900 mm and an enhanced 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine. It delivers a maximum power of 136 PS and a peak torque of 300 Nm, facilitating effortless cargo transport.

Further enriching its commercial vehicle lineup, UMWT announced the pre-booking for the much-awaited Toyota HiAce Super Long Wheelbase (SLWB), which boasts significant size enhancements for increased interior space, offering unparalleled comfort for passengers and cargo. Equipped with a powerful 2.7-litre turbo-diesel engine, the HiAce SLWB promises robust performance with 177 PS and 450 Nm of torque.

As part of their commitment to enhancing the buying experience, UMWT introduced the “Kegembiraan Aidilfitri Bersama Toyota” promo for April 2024, offering customers up to 100% financing for selected models. Car buyers could enjoy broad promotional savings, including of up to RM7,500 for the New Yaris. The Toyota Service Savers program further offers convenient monthly instalments starting from as low as RM31.

This initiative is part of Toyota’s global efforts to inspire children to envision the future of mobility. Drawing nearly 6.2 million participants from over 100 countries since 2004, the contest highlights Toyota’s commitment to fostering creativity and innovation among the youth. The global winners will be announced by Toyota Motor Corporation in June 2024, showcasing the imaginative talent of young minds worldwide.
