Mercedes-Benz continues to expand its premium SUV range with the introduction of two new models, the GLE Coupé, and GLS.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today introduces three new members of the premium SUVs the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC Coupé, Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé and the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé – Born with attitude, from aptitude

The latest addition to the SUV coupés, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC Coupé AMG Line and the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC Coupé, is a further example of the Mercedes-Benz strategy to address all the requirements of customers in the premium-SUV segment. Its striking design with an aggressive appearance combines the athletic characteristics of a SUV with the sporty nature of a coupé resulting in a vehicle that is intense, beautiful and full of passion.

The GLE Coupé comes with a priceless and commanding presence. It does not only skilfully embodies the principles of Mercedes-Benz design but also focuses on the essential features of two entirely different automobile genes.

The GLE 450 Coupé is powered by the 3.0-litre 6-cylinder in-line turbo engine that produces 270 kW (367 hp) and a maximum torque of 500 Nm which enables acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. In the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupé, the 6-cylinder in-line turbo engine generates 320 kW (435 hp) and delivers a maximum torque of 520 Nm, allowing it to reach 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.

Both models feature the AIRMATIC air suspension system, an adaptive adjustable damping feature which uses highly complex sensor systems and algorithms to adapt the damping characteristics of the road condition and driving situation in real time, providing maximum ride comfort for any situation.

The interior of the new GLE Coupés shares numerous common features with the other models in the new premium-SUV family with a clear emphasis on the sporty aspect. The modern cockpit with two large screens in the format 12.3 inches and the strikingly shaped instrument panel, horizontally divided by a trim element tier, and seamlessly flowing into the door trim, appear familiar

The GLE Coupé offers the latest generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system with intuitive operating structure, brilliant graphics with a high visual quality.

Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC AMG Line – The flagship of SUVs

The Mercedes-Benz GLS offers more of everything: more space, more comfort and more luxury. The 3.0-litre 6-cylinder in-line engine electrified with a 48-volt technology have an output of 270 kW (367 hp) and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. The power is transmitted by the 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission that takes efficiency, comfort and dynamics to a whole new level with even swifter and smoother gearshifts.

On the exterior, the GLS 450 is donned with the upright radiator grille, chrome-plated underguard in the front apron with the bone-shaped air inlet grille and two powerdomes on the bonnet. It also has a powerful shoulder muscle extending from the rear doors to the tail lights which are based on LED technology and has a three-dimensional look. It also has a slender, continuous chrome trim strip of a reflector and a chrome-plated underguard.

The aesthetics of the GLS is featured by the leather appointments and a dashboard support that flows into the door panels, and the integral trim element likewise extends to meet the doors. The new GLS comes with electrically adjustable seats with the EASY-ENTRY system on the third row which enables the seats in the second row to move and fold forward, giving a larger legroom to those sitting in the third row.

To further enhance the luxurious experience, the MBUX Rear Seat Entertainment System is available for this 7-seater luxury SUV. Each screen displays the content selected by the individual user, allowing each passengers to enjoy movies, music or use the integrated web browser on the two wireless headsets that come with the vehicle.

The new models of the premium SUV range are now equipped with Mercedes me connect, the newest generation of connectivity that helps Mercedes-Benz owners to stay connected and in sync with their vehicles.

The connected car service is made to make the lives of Mercedes-Benz owners easier and at ease, whether it is unlocking their car, starting the engine remotely, getting customer support or simply checking their fuel level.

The Mmc features features Mercedes–Benz emergency call system (E-call). With a dedicated button on the roof panel of the vehicle’s cabin, drivers are able to make one-touch emergency calls to the dedicated emergency response centre.

Other features of the Mercedes me connect includes remote vehicle diagnostics, pre=entry climate control, predictive navigation, parked vehicle locator.
