JLand Group (JLG) and Gentari ink MoU to explore Renewable Energy Solutions and Accelerate Green Mobility Ecosystem Growth at JLG’s Projects

Collaboration will, among others, explore the potential installations of an electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Ibrahim Technopolis (IBTEC) and renewable energy solutions for JLG’s industrial parks.

Johor Bahru, 11 April 2023 – In a move to integrate renewable energy solutions and green mobility, JLand Group Sdn. Bhd. (JLG) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with clean energy solutions provider, Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari).  This strategic partnership aims to develop an eco-friendly ecosystem across JLG’s residential, commercial, and industrial projects. 

The signing ceremony, which saw JLG represented by Yang Berbahagia Datuk Sr Akmal Ahmad, Director, Real Estate & Infrastructure Division, JCorp / Deputy Chairman, JLG and Gentari represented by Sushil Purohit, its Chief Executive Officer, was witnessed by Yang Berhormat Tuan Ir. Ts. Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh, Chairman of the Johor State Public Works, Transport & Infrastructure; Yang Berhormat Dato’ Haji Mohd Noorazam Dato’ Haji Osman, Mayor of Johor Bahru City Council and Yang Berbahagia Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, President and Chief Executive, JCorp / Chairman, JLG.

Pursuant to the signing of this MoU, JLG and Gentari will undertake feasibility studies on the integration of Gentari’s renewable energy solutions at selected strategic assets and industrial parks under JLG, while the implementation of the green mobility ecosystem in JLG’s selected projects will commence in the third quarter of 2023.

Datuk Sr Akmal said: “Our partnership with Gentari signifies a milestone in our progress towards decarbonisation initiatives and enhanced capabilities in the renewable energy sector.  Through our joint effort with Gentari, we are further equipped to act on our continued commitment for sustainable growth.”

As part of the collaboration, JLG and Gentari will also explore the potential installations of an electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Ibrahim Technopolis (IBTEC) and renewable energy solutions for JLG’s industrial parks.

Datuk Sr Akmal further added: “With the deployment of these renewable energy solutions and green mobility infrastructure at JLG’s assets and industrial parks, we are advancing clean energy transition through a multi-industry approach.  This is especially crucial, with JLG’s wide-spread presence and operations in the State of Johor, as we look forward to jointly enhance the energy efficiency of industrial parks, and that of its tenants.”

As part of the collaboration, Gentari’s Vehicle as a Service (VaaS) offering will be implemented as a green mobility subscription service at JLG’s residential, commercial and industrial developments, to initiate the adoption of EVs.  Through the introduction of EV fleet subscription by Gentari, JLG seeks to accelerate low-cost investment transition into EV.
