Kuala Lumpur, 23 April 2024 – Leveraging more than a decade of partnership, Continental Tyres and Brabus teamed up to test the limits of the newly-launched, made-for-APAC (Asia-Pacific) sporty tyres, MaxContact MC7, at Continental’s world-renown testing facility Contidrom. Using the legendary BRABUS 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition 1 of 25, the test showcases the tyres’ prowess in maximum control and steering precision in handling the 900Nm torque, with 275/35R21 tyres fitted in front and 315/30R21 tyres fitted at the rear.

“We’re always excited about new collaborations within our longstanding partnership with Brabus, with whom we share a commitment to performance,” Dalibor Kalina, Continental Head of Business Area Replacement Tyres APAC, said. “The new MaxContact MC7 is for the drivers who take the everyday driving experience to the max. But the product can go beyond that — fitting the tyres on a vehicle of this calibre is a significant testament to the abilities of the MC7 tyres.” he continued.

Sven Gramm, Director Marketing and Communications said, “The BRABUS 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition 1 of 25 is a tribute to the legendary automotive refinement luminary and the founder of Brabus, Bodo Buschmann. Although we’ve paired numerous Continental tyres in the past decade, we are excited to have the very first Continental APAC-dedicated ones tested in this high-performance roadster which has a very special place in our heart.”

Pushing performance boundaries with Continental Sport+ Technology

The BRABUS 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition 1 of 25 is a demonstration of how modern performance meets exquisite engineering, with impressive builds that enable the car to go from 0 to 100km/h in 3.3 seconds, and reach a maximum speed of 315km/h. The new Continental MaxContact MC7 matches this incredible performance and speed, allowing for the car’s 900 Newton-meters (Nm) of lightning-fast torque to be unleashed while ensuring maximum traction and superior braking.

The unique Cornering Macro-blocks and ReFlex Compound design help the MaxContact MC7 achieve superb adaptability and firm grip to the road surface. By maximizing the contact area with the road to create a wider footprint, it successfully distributes the force to other parts of the tyre for more refined handling and exceptional stability when drivers making sharper turns even at a higher speed.

The new MaxContact MC7 also provides enhanced grip as well as shorter braking distance to ensure a stable and safe drive. The 3D Laser-cut Sipes improves grip and braking in wet and rainy conditions, reducing the risk of aquaplaning by quickly expelling water that flows through the tyre grooves. Its silica technology within the ReFlex compound enhances the transfer of kinetic energy to heat when braking, leading to shorter braking distances on both dry and wet roads.

Longstanding partnership between Continental Tyres and Brabus supports exceptional drives across the world’s roads

Continental and BRABUS have enjoyed a close partnership for over a decade, with the expertise of both companies ensuring that the products of the global tuning company from Bottrop are not only reliable but also supremely agile. This collaboration further solidifies the Continental’s status as an exceptional and dynamic high-performance tire provider, promising an exhilarating driving experience on any road.

Some other recent collaborations include:

  • In February 2024 Continental and Brabus made the announcement that the new BRABUS ROCKET 1000, the most powerful supercar in its lineup, would only be using the SportContact 7 tyres from Continental, specifically size 275/35 ZR 21 tyres at the front and 335/25 ZR 22 tyres at the rear. This would give the 1.000 horsepower / 736 kW car a firm grip on the road and enable it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.6 seconds.
  • At the Essen Motor Show 2023, Continental and Brabus presented the cutting-edge BRABUS ROCKET R 900, which Continental equipped exclusively with ultra-high-performance SportContact 7 tyres.
