Maxim E-hailing Malaysia has taken another meaningful step toward promoting inclusivity and community empowerment through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Society of the Blind Malaysia (SBM). The collaboration underscores Maxim’s commitment to improving accessibility, mobility, and overall welfare for the blind and visually impaired community across the country.

The MoU signing ceremony, attended by representatives from both organizations and members of the media, also featured a symbolic cheque handover and a sharing session highlighting Maxim’s ongoing efforts in driver safety, community outreach, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

As part of the partnership, Maxim Malaysia is providing free e-hailing rides to SBM and its members, enabling them to travel safely and conveniently for daily activities, medical appointments, and community events. This initiative is aimed at reducing transportation barriers often faced by the blind community and ensuring they have equal access to mobility solutions.

In addition to the free rides, Maxim also donated food bank packages to 163 SBM members, reflecting its continued dedication to community welfare and social care. The company believes that small but consistent acts of support can make a lasting difference in improving quality of life for underserved groups.

“The Society of the Blind Malaysia (SBM), sincerely thank Maxim Malaysia for supporting Persons with Visual Disabilities (OKU Penglihatan) through fare assistance and the distribution of essential food items to our elderly members in the Klang Valley. We truly appreciate this meaningful effort, which reflects the Malaysian spirit of care and inclusivity in improving the well-being of our community.

We also welcome Maxim’s initiative to provide fare subsidies for our members, as e-hailing services have greatly improved our mobility and independence. We hope the Kerajaan Madani will consider introducing a monthly e-hailing subsidy for persons with disabilities and encourage more organisations to follow Maxim’s example in supporting the visually impaired community across Malaysia,” said the president Mohd Mustaza Bin Mohamad Zin.

During the ceremony, Mohd Hazwan, Director of Maxim Malaysia, shared that the initiative is part of the company’s broader mission to build a more inclusive and compassionate society through technology and partnership.

“Mobility should be accessible to everyone. By offering free e-hailing rides to members of SBM, this MoU is more than a formal agreement it is a symbol of our shared belief that accessibility should be a right, not a privilege. We hope this collaboration will empower the blind and visually impaired community to move freely, participate actively, and feel supported by the society around them. At Maxim, we believe that when we make our services more inclusive, we make our communities stronger, and we hope to make their daily lives easier and more independent. This initiative is not just about transportation; it’s about empowerment, dignity, and inclusion. Maxim is proud to stand alongside SBM in creating equal opportunities for all,” said Mohd Hazwan Musley, Director of Maxim Malaysia.

Through this collaboration, Maxim Malaysia continues to uphold its values of safety, accessibility, and social responsibility, working hand-in-hand with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community groups to foster positive, lasting change.
