Daimler Financial Services Voted World’s Fifth Best Multinational Workplace

Puchong, Selangor, 22 November 2016 – Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia Sdn Bhd’s (MBSM) parent company, Daimler Financial Services AG (Daimler Financial Services), is in the top five 2016 World’s Best Multinational Workplaces.

Daimler Financial Services is currently in the league with other top multinationals, namely, Google which ranked first, and Dell EMC in third place. Additionally, Daimler Financial Services is the only German company to be listed among the world’s top 25 employers. Ranked 19th in 2014, Daimler Financial Services improved exceptionally by jumping 14 spots to place fifth in 2016.

Since being established in November 2012, MBSM, which is part of the Daimler Financial Services group, has demonstrated commendable growth. With a staff strength that has expanded from one to 70, MBSM has recorded a year-to-date servicing portfolio of RM 1.8 billion, which represents a growth of 80 per cent compared to the first nine months of 2015.

Germany’s best employer
Daimler Financial Services ranked as the number one attractive employers this year in Germany with its’ subsidiary Mercedes-Benz Bank. Mercedes-Benz Bank is among the leading auto banks and employs around 1,900 people in Stuttgart, Berlin and Saarbrücken. Additionally, the bank’s Service Center in Berlin was recognized with an award for its apprenticeship program.

2nd best employer in Europe
Daimler Financial Services ranked number two in the European ranking. In total, around 5,900 employees work for Daimler Financial Services in Europe. To qualify for the European ranking, a company has to belong to the top employers within a minimum of three countries. Daimler Financial Services is among the best employers in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Turkey and United Kingdom.

The Great Place to Work top 25 best employers list is the outcome of an anonymous survey among its 10,000 employees and a ranking of its Human Resource and Leadership programmes by the independent Great Place to Work Institute. Over 4,100 companies and approximately seven million employees participated in the study.

To qualify for the global list, a company must be one of the top employers in at least five countries. Other requirements include having at least 5,000 employees, and at least 40 percent of its employees working outside the company’s home country.
