Caltex to be the first fuel provider in Malaysia to adopt contactless payment technology  to make your journey better

Chevron and Visa are enhancing the customer experience for Malaysian motorists by adopting Visa payWave at its service stations – the first of its kind adopting contactless payment technology in the country

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, November 22, 2017 — Chevron Malaysia Limited, which carries the retail brand Caltex® unveiled its partnership with Visa to be the first fuel provider in the country to introduce Visa payWave at its service stations – a contactless payment technology aimed at saving Malaysian motorists’ time for a more enjoyable journey. Visa cardholders can wave their cards in front of readers for a fast, secure and hassle-free transaction to pay for Caltex fuel – no swiping, signing or PIN needed for transactions below RM 250.

“We are excited to partner with Chevron Malaysia Limited to introduce to Malaysians a faster and more convenient payment method – Visa payWave to Malaysian motorists. Today, Malaysians conduct more than two million Visa payWave transactions a month and we have seen strong growth in Visa payWave transactions. With motorists now able to pay for their fuel with the wave of their cards at the petrol kiosk, we believe more Malaysians will embrace the benefits of contactless payments. Cardholders can now enjoy the same fast and secure transactions by simply waving their Visa payWave cards in front of the readers installed at the outdoor fuel pump

Being the first in Malaysia to adopt the contactless payment technology through our partnership with Visa, we are confident motorists will be able to experience quicker service at our stations,” said Shahid Ahmed, Country Chairman, Chevron Malaysia.

Ahmed added, “To excite customers to experience our latest innovation, we have also announced our latest promotion which aims to provide value added benefits when they purchase any of our products at Caltex stations.”

To kick off the partnership, Chevron, together with Visa announced the “Wave & Win” promotion which starts from November 20, 2017 to March 19, 2018. Visa cardholders that purchase any Caltex fuel or Mart convenience store items using Visa payWave will stand a chance to win the grand prize of a Mercedes Benz C200 and RM10,000 StarCash. A total of 32 customers will also walkaway with monthly prizes of RM5,000 StarCash.
